Become a Masterclass Mentor

The Mentor role

The mentor role is intended to provide additional support for Masterclass learners who request it, and is not a replacement for support from the Teaching Team. As a peer mentor your role will be to support your mentees over the 6 weeks of the course to ensure they have an effective and enjoyable learning experience. You will do this in a number of ways, for example:

• Monitoring progress
• Offering timely guidance and feedback
• Supporting collaboration
• Linking subject matter to a learner’s professional role
• Being visible

Skills & Experience

The Masterclass Mentor role is voluntary and undertaken by previous Circular Economy Masterclass participants.

To fulfil this role we would like you to draw on:

  • your experience of partaking in and completing the Masterclass
  • your own skills and knowledge associated with your professional role and your sector
  • your own personal skills and knowledge from other walks of life

 Mentor Characteristics

As a Mentor, you will help your mentees to develop and challenge their own thinking and practice, giving them the benefit of your own experience, knowledge and development of ideas throughout your Masterclass journey. In summary your role as a mentor will require you to be:
